Die Ausstellung „Promoting Democracy“ ist seitens verschiedener Institutionen auf größeres Interesse gestoßen. Aus diesem Grund wird sie als Wanderausstellung mit fast allen Werken weiterziehen. Ende Juli wird sie bis in den August hinein in Rheinland-Pfalz Station machen und während des Kultursommers Rheinland-Pfalz präsentiert werden. Des Weiteren wird sie im kommenden Frühjahr an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Weingarten gezeigt werden.
The exhibition “Promoting Democracy” has generated considerable interest from various institutions. For this reason, it will continue as a traveling exhibition featuring nearly all of the works. At the end of July, it will make a stop in Rhineland-Palatinate, where it will remain through August and be presented as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer. Furthermore, it will be on display at the Weingarten University of Education next spring.

Innovatives Projekt „Kunst Hoch 3“ – 24-Stunden-Galerie unter freiem Himmel. Der Eigenbetrieb Kultur, Tourismus und Stadtmarketing hat Künstler:innen dazu aufgerufen, ihre Kunst hoch über dem Schnellenmarkt zu präsentieren. Das geförderte Projekt wird das Schnellenmarkt-Quartier mit schwebenden Kunstwerken beleben, die in rund 6 Metern Höhe an 5 Überspannungen installiert werden. Ich freue mich, dass mein eingereichtes Konzept (Summerfeeling) eine von den fünf Überspannungen gewonnen hat.
Innovative Project “Kunst Hoch 3” – A 24-Hour Open-Air Gallery. The City Department of Culture, Tourism, and City Marketing has called on artists to present their work high above the Schnellenmarkt. The funded project will enliven the Schnellenmarkt neighborhood with suspended artworks installed at a height of about 6 meters on five overpasses. I’m delighted that the concept I submitted (“Summerfeeling”) won a spot on one of the five overpasses.

Mit dem Verkauf der Werke wurde Geld für Demokratieförderungsprojekte und Beratungsstellen für Betroffene rechter Gewalt generiert. / Solidarity Art Auction organized by fiftyfifty-Galerie and Dssq at the Düsseldorf City Museum. The sale of the artworks raised funds for projects promoting democracy and counseling centers for victims of right-wing violence.

Müllsammelaktion mit der Oberschule Visselhövede. Morgens wurde Müll gesammelt, später auf dem Marktplatz Demonstration für mehr Klimaschutz. Dafür habe ich eine Kunstperformance mit Redebeitrag gemacht. In meiner Rede habe ich vorgetragen, warum ich die Walflosse als Motiv genommen habe und was der Wal mit dem Müll aus Visselhövede zu tun hat. / Trash cleanup with Visselhövede High School. We collected trash in the morning, followed by a demonstration in the town square calling for more climate action. For this event, I put on an art performance that included a speech. In my speech, I explained why I chose a whale fin as my motif and what the whale has to do with the trash from Visselhövede.

Am 25. April 2020 organisierte ich eine Protestaktion ohne Menschenmenge als Reaktion auf den Aufruf von Seebrücke: „Evakuiert die europäischen Lager!“. Aufgrund der Versammlungsverbote während der Pandemie marschierten 45 Spielzeug-Demonstranten symbolisch mit Plakaten in Richtung des Landtags von Nordrhein-Westfalen. Online-Aktivismus ist zwar großartig, bleibt aber oft in seiner eigenen Blase gefangen. Ich wollte Menschen im öffentlichen Raum erreichen. Die Resonanz während der vierstündigen Installation an der Rheinpromenade in Düsseldorf war unglaublich – viele blieben stehen, lasen die Schilder und machten Fotos.
On April 25, 2020, I created a crowdless protest responding to Seebrücke’s call to „Evacuate European Camps!“. Due to pandemic gathering bans, 45 toy protestors symbolically marched with signs toward the NRW State Parliament. While online activism is great, it often stays within its own bubble. I wanted to reach people in public spaces. The response during the 4-hour installation at the Rhine Promenade Düsseldorf was incredible—many stopped, read, and took photos.
